The Syntopix strategy is to secure intellectual property by focusing on the repositioning of known compounds, or combinations of compounds, that have a history of use in humans. This allows us to uncover previously unknown antimicrobial properties and unexpected beneficial interactions.
Syntopix then seeks to form co-development partnerships with healthcare or pharmaceutical companies who are committed to offering innovative antimicrobial products. The two major routes for commercialisation of the Syntopix technology are:
Joint development
Syntopix forms early stage development partnerships where it
offers knowledge and proprietary methodologies to discover
novel antimicrobial solutions that will differentiate products and
brands; and
Out-licensing
Syntopix seeks to out-licenses its acne formulations,
demonstrated to have phase II clinical efficacy and concepts for
the treatment of infections (including those due to MRSA) to
partners with late stage development and product marketing
expertise.
